The weekend proved to be more then a bit wet. As such it tended to reduce everyone enthusiasm. Still we managed to get a little done.

Team One, was Ed Goff, Jerry Fant,, Dave Milhollin, and Wayne Peplinski, who returned to the Chimneyers Delight Entrance of the Lost Petzl System were the did more compulsively detailed sketching. Jerry volunteered to come back and spend 12 hours. with Ed in an attempt to finish the survey. Ed feels one more typical 1/2-day trip might wrap up the lower level, then there's the upper level, and then they will need to go back upstream and survey the connection  to the Many Names entrance. It will sure would be nice to finish before the ticks and fleas hatch in the spring.

Team Two was Jim Kennedy, Randy Brown, Tim Stich and Glenn Rogerson. Returning to the Bears Breath Entrance to the Lost Petzl system with only half of last months team available, Stich and newcomer Rogerson were recruited to finish the upper level survey and complete the dig. A good soaking from the constant drizzle dampened enthusiasm (literally). Fortunately, the first objective, finishing the survey, was completed. They managed to extend the survey through the tight entrance (Blackburn Memorial Entrance, B.M.E.,) and through the historic Golden State Motor Oil Can Cave Entrance. The new Bears Breath Entrance remains the entrance of choice to this the upper part of the system. The B.M.E. remains unentered by humans but Gasp, Debbie Blackburn, vowed to use it at least once.
While Jim and Randy were soaking themselves in the GSMOCC entrance, Tim and Glenn balked at continuing to enlarge the connecting passage to Many Names. Jim and Randy therefore had no incentive to enter the Many Names side of the "dig" to continue the connection survey, so the soggy team left for camp, dry clothes, and hot food.

Team Three was Terry Holsinger, Dale Barnard, Jennifer Mirossay first went to the Park HQ to drop off the release form, as well as give Robert Basse copies of the aerial photos Terry Holsinger had obtained. They then met up with Vincent Pallotta, and Mice Drosos. The team headed to the Korner Karst to begin the survey of SAB283, Good ‘n Tight, but the wet team did not feel up to the 6.5 meter deep tight , now wet, entrance chimney, so they left it for a dryer day and a team of determined surveyors to work on the "entertaining" cave. The wet and cold did little to inspire most of the team as they continued in to the Korner Karst to check out some of the other caves. The first tag found is SAB 218. Dale and Terry felt like this number was in use else were in the park, and will double check this. Regardless of the number, Dale and Jennifer surveyed the cave in two shots. We then headed back to camp, stopping at Mystery Hole to warm up a little.

Team Four was Alvis Hill, Dawn Hill, Pat Copleand and Celeste Roren. This team was giving the walking tour of Gorman Cave, as the park was a little short handed, after Ranger Ed Young quit.

The damp and cold was enough to keep the GPS team close to camp, so unlike most trips, we have no hours for them.

We hope the December trip will have at least drier weather.
